For this project, I have designed an immersive environment for a walking simulator, inspired by a real-world location—a historic manor house and its surrounding farm buildings in the southern part of Kraków. The estate once belonged to Józef Szujski, a Polish historian, publicist, and poet. His history, along with the unique atmosphere of the site, served as the foundation for creating a mysterious and exploration-driven level design.
Research & Environment Development
To ensure authenticity and a strong sense of place, I have conducted on-site research, taking photographs and documenting architectural details during multiple visits. I have also used Google Maps to analyze the topography and spatial relationships of the area. This research phase has helped me shape the terrain, pathways, and key landmarks, balancing realism with engaging gameplay.
Design & Player Experience
My approach has focused on blending historical inspiration with interactive design, crafting a space that feels both authentic and engaging. By carefully placing environmental storytelling elements and structuring the space to guide player movement naturally, I have aimed to create an experience that rewards curiosity and exploration.
